In some of the developed countries special acts and laws have been enacted to improve forensic status so that crime cases can be solved and culpability can be fixed with certainty, resulted in the rise of conviction rate with minimum time frame. These Nations give more emphasis on timely and quality analytical reports from the forensic scientists which help to provide immensely convincing evidentiary value in criminal justice delivery system. The advanced forensic analysis are able to provide a phenomenal success rate to the investigation of many heinous and hi-tech complicated crime cases to such an extent that the crime investigating agencies have been able to solve them in minimum time frame.

It gives me immense pleasure to share that in the same line an emerging hi-tech Central Forensic Science Laboratory is going to be set up under the administrative control of the Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India under XIIth Plan at Pune.

It will give a filling with creation of state-of-art facilities which are used for crime investigation providing a sound investigative establishment for the criminal justice delivery system for helping investigating agencies of central and peripheral state governments to avail the best of analytical/examination facilities of their crime exhibits. I hope that, the CFSL, Pune will cater to the needs of all Central Govt. Agencies, Higher/Lower Courts, Autonomous bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, Banks & respective States/Union Territories under the notified jurisdiction of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli and will play vital role in helping criminal justice system in solving crime/civil cases.
